After playing a variety of roles in films like Love, Sex Aur Dhokha and Yeh Hai Bakrapur and Fugly, the versatile actor Anshuman Jha is now working with Onir and Manish Mudra for their films Chauranga and ‘X’. And will soon start working for the sequel of Yeh Hai Bakrapur.
Huma Qureshi and Swara Bhaskar are the two actresses Anshuman will be seen sharing screen with this year. Dibakar Banerjee, who introduced him to the world of cinema says, “He has a strange awkwardness, which I find endearing.”
“Theatre is my riyaaz but cinema is now my focus”, asserts Anshuman, as he is now doing a play named “The Boy Who Stopped Smiling” after a film break. He also represented India at the World Theatre and therefore is a directors favourite.
Charmed by his acting skills, Onir states “The energy which Anshuman brings to a character is infectious and touches the co-actors and the crew. “ Whereas, The Yeh hai Bakrapur Director Janaki Vishwanathan compliments, “Anshuman is ordinarily relatable yet extraordinarily charming.”
