Aamir Khan has been an admirer of the young Tiger Shroff ever since he saw him in action in the same gym when he visited once where Tiger was regular even when he did not even think of making it as an actor. Aamir had made a promise that he would make it a point to be present whenever the promo of Tiger’s first film, Heropanti would be launched and Aamir graced the trailer launch event on April 4.
Aamir was so impressed with Tiger Shroff’s work as an actor that he did not mince words and pronounced Tiger as ''the new superstar on the horizon''. Aamir said Tiger had all the qualities to be a complete hero and Heropanti would only be the beginning of his career which would take him places far ahead in the near future. Sajid Nadiadwala who has shown a great deal of interest in introducing newcomers in various fields said he was very happy to launch a very simple, sincere honest and hard working young actor like Tiger Shroff. He was also happy about finding the ideal actress in Kriti to team up with Tiger.
Siddharth Roy Kapur of UTV said it was always a pleasure joining hands with a producer like Sajid Nadiadwala and was especially happy to be involved in the making of Heropanti.
Tiger Shroff was a little shy and also a little nervous at his first outing with the media, but the reaction of the media itself gave him all the confidence to answer their questions without any hesitation. He said he was always interested in martial arts, gymnastics, games and dance, but had never taken acting seriously even though it was an idea somewhere in his mind. It was this idea that finally took shape and pushed him and inspired him to be an actor.
Tiger added that he was very lucky to have the kind of team he worked with in his very first film, a team headed by Sajid who gave him the feeling to believe that he was completely in his comfort zone and it was this feeling that encouraged him to work harder with every passing day. When asked if he had any favourite actors among Indian actors, he instantly said, ''None, only Bruce Lee and Michael Jackson''. He said he was the greatest admirer of Aamir Khan both as an actor and as a human being and confessed that he would be happy if he could be ''even half as good as Aamir Sir''. Talking about his father, he said he was very lucky to have such a great father who was so down to earth and he paid his father a compliment when he said, ''I would like to be at least half as good as my father.'' When asked about his heroine, Kriti, Tiger said she was one of his strongest supporters during the making of the film and was responsible for drawing him out from what he was before he took to acting. She was also responsible for making him do all the romantic scenes without any awkwardness or shyness.
His family, his mother, Aayesha Shroff and his sister Krishna were also present at what they called ''the most historic day for the family''. They thanked the entire unit of the film for supporting Tiger during the making of the film.
As usual, Jackie Shroff was nowhere to be seen in the front rows. He was part of the audience and reluctantly reached the stage and all his answers were in the typical Mumbai Hindi, most of them in his own style and in a few words which made audiences cheer and Aamir even said, ''I wish I could speak like Jackie at functions like this''.
Tiger had his first taste of being mobbed when some of the young female members of the media surrounded him and made sweet conversation with him and some even asked him for his autograph which made him very shy and whenever he was shy he was just like his father, the ever so loving Jaggu Dada.
