For someone who has forever been tagged as 'Ms. Touch Me Not' ever since she made her debut with Dil Maange More opposite Shahid Kapoor in 2004, Soha Ali Khan is returning in a new avtar. While a lot has been said and written about her two piece bikini shoot for Mr Joe B. Carvalho, Soha insists - though with tongue firmly in cheek - that it is not just a 'demand of the script' but also acts as a 'turning point' of the film.
Smiles Soha, "Well, I know when actors say that it was the demand of the situation, not many who listen to that are willing to take it on the face value. After all, the least demanding situation could be that I am close to water so it has to be a bikini. However, if you indeed trust me, then the sequence is actually a very important plot point in the film. After I get into the water and then what I do in there is actually a turning point of the film. Also, my director (Samir Tewari) convinced me that it was not for the purpose of tantalising though. It wasn't as if the camera is lingering on me for ages."
Meanwhile she is also wearing some outrageous costumes in the film.
"Outrageous? They are ridiculous," she laughs, "Having said that, it was all very liberating. I remember when I was shooting for the film in Bangalore, it used to be hilarious every time I used to get ready for the shoot. We were shooting in a hotel and every time I walked in the lobby, I would get looks from complete strangers. At times I would be in a silly costume, at other I would be walking down in a swimming suit with a towel robe around me. I am sure people used to wonder what we were up to.
