Singing sensation Madhushree Bhattacharya, the voice behind innumerable Bollywood hit numbers, brought timeless ghazals from the silver screen and paid an ode to immortal ghazal maestros like Begum Akhter, Mehendi Hasan, Jagjit Singh, our industry legends like Madan Mohan, Shankar Jaikishen, Khayyam, Rajesh Roshan, SD Burman in her first ever ghazal concert titled 'Woh Jab Yaad Aaye... Bahut Yaad Aaye' in Mumbai.
It was a star-studded affair which saw in attendance celebs like Shatrughan Sinha, Anup Jalota, Medha Jalota, Rajkumar Barjatya, Mir Ranjan Negi, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Sonalika Pradhan, Champak Jain of Venus, Saawan Kumar Tak and many others. Madhushree's husband Robby Badal was also there to support her.
The show was divided into into two parts, the first half being the tribute ghazals, and the second half covering ghazals from films over the two hours that Madhushree brought the the pathos, tribulations and richness of this song form alive. Some of ghazals she sang included soulful numbers like Baat Niklegi Toh Door Tak Jayegi, Chitthi na Koi Sandes, Aaj Jaane Ki Zidd Naa Karo, Hothon Se Choolo tum, Saawan Ka Mahina Pawan Kare Shor and many others.
