All new releases failed at box office and there is not much hope left for these films. "David" is not a flop but a disaster with collections on day one lurched around 0.70 cr nett. "Vishwaroopam" was no better with 1.80 cr nett after hitting 1050 screens.
"David" grew marginally on Saturday and as per early estimates it should collect 0.90 - 1 cr nett. Film will end up with 2.80 - 3 cr nett weekend collections at best. Film will collect 4.50 cr nett lifetime number and that is simply pathetic. Film will fail to recover even P & A cost.
Other controversial release of the weekend was disappointment because with such a reelase size numbers are not encouraging. Film managed considerable growth on 2nd day but only in pockets. As per early estimate, film should collect 2.40 cr nett on Saturday taking 2 day total to 4.20 cr nett.
"Vishwaroopam" will collect 7 cr nett over the weekend and lifetime collections in Hindi version will be 10-11 cr nett at best. Despite all publicity and controversy, film failed to perform at box office.
