Bollywood Ranbir Kapoor and Ileana D’Cruz, along with director Anurag Basu launched the DVD release of their movie, Barfi, at the Reliance Timeout Store in Bandra. Here are some images from the event, you can read our exclusive interview with Ranbir Kapoor,

Ranbir Kapoor unveiled BARFI’s DVD yesterday evening alongside director Anurag Basu and co-star Ilena D’cruz at Reliance Timeout Bandra. Ranbir Kapoor spoke to Sourendra Kumar Das from Screaming Critics about his journey in the Indian Film Industry for five years, Oscar® submissions for Barfi and his upcoming film with Anurag Basu, which is a tribute to the legendary Kishore Kumar…

has been submitted as India’s official entry for Academy Awards®, how do you feel about it?

Oh! It is the biggest honor that one can receive in the film fraternity. I feel very excited and happy. I wish our Barfi team would walk the red carpet at the Oscars® next year. The journey is a long way; the Barfi team and I, will keep our fingers crossed for the Academy Awards.

Comment on your upcoming film with Anurag Basu that portrays Kishore Kumar’s life?

It is again too early to speak on it. I will acquire a different look to get into the boots of Kishore Kumar. I am actively involved with the research for the film. Once I finish Bombay Velvet, this film will go on floor sometime next year. The film is bound to bring back the old-world charm of the classic black and white era of Indian film industry.

What does it take to become a Ranbir Kapoor?

I consider myself very fortunate that I hail from a family with deep rooted connection with Indian film industry. But to be honest, I still do not know who I am. In every film, I re-discover a different me! That’s Ranbir Kapoor!

You just completed half-a-decade in Indian Cinema, how was your journey?

I am too emotionally connected to my work, it has been wonderful and I feel happy that I have seen both sides of the coin. Saawariya came and went in a day, while Barfi is still running for several weeks. I have learnt that there are hits and misses in every actor’s life. I want to play more exciting and different characters in my upcoming films.
