There is enough buzz on Kajol’s TV debut! First, there were reports that she is keen to do Rensil D’Silva’s thriller about a single mother living in a joint family in Delhi. Now we hear that the actress has been approached for the desi adaptation of American hit show The Killing.
It’s being said that if all goes well, then the actress will enter the small screen with the Indian adaptation of the series Forbrydelsen (The Crime). The Danish drama also has a critically acclaimed American version The Killing. The story revolves around a veteran investigator Sarah Lund. The show follows the police investigation of one specific case showing 24 hours of the investigation in an hour-long episode.
Kajol has agreed to the show in principle and the formalities are being worked on, claim sources. “She loves the part but the character may turn from a detective to a cop. She is currently working out her terms and conditions with the production house and the broadcaster,” a source is quoted as saying.
The show is going to be produced by Endemol India, and they haven’t denied the story either. The production house is going to make an official announcement soon.
Kajol was also interested in doing Rensil D’Silva’s show, again a crime thriller, scripted by Priya Pinto. But the channel was taken aback when the actress quoted a whopping amount to do the show. Kajol was last seen in the movie We Are Family (2010).
