Yesteryear actress Waheeda Rehman, who was supposed to unveil the life size brass statue of late actor Dev Anand at suburban Bandra on his death anniversary yesterday, reportedly got emotional and broke into tears while doing so.
At the event, a moist-eyed Waheeda gushed about Dev Anand as a person and spoke glowingly about his humility and simplicity of heart. She also spoke about how the evergreen actor was always friendly and co-operative and never made her feel like a newcomer, when she made her acting debut opposite him in C.I.D.
Known as the 'Evergreen Star' of Bollywood, Dev Anand passed away at the age of 88 due to a cardiac arrest last year in London.
