To coincide with the first anniversary of Nirbhaya incident, First Look of Sanjay Chhel directed Kill The Rapist would be launched on Monday, 16th December. Starring Anjali Patil in the lead, the Sanjay Chhel directed film is set to go beyond the rape incident. Instead, the story moves forward and narrates the plight of a young woman who is bearing physical as well as emotional scars of the act.
"The idea is definitely not to titillate but instead question back the society on how to deal with such dastardly acts," says producer Siddhartha M Jain, "It is not about taking it lying down and mourn the loss but instead find ways to fight out the menace."
While the film is aiming for a release early next year, Siddhartha - who has earlier produced Ragini MMS - has devised an innovative marketing campaign that would last for six weeks.
However when quizzed around it, he shared the thought process, if not the whole detail.
"You would know about it on 16th December itself. To complement the shocking quotient of the incident as well as the event, even the campaign is going to shock quite a few. It tells us that the power lies within us. How we bring it to the fore and challenge the tormentors is the crux of the campaign," hints Siddhartha before signing off.
