After Vidya Balan, it seems it is Anushka Sharma's turn to play a lady detective.
Apparently, the actress is in talks with producers of Navdeep Singh's "NH 10" — a film touted as the Bollywood debut vehicle of Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto. The actress had however quit the Phantom Production's project in May this year.
Navdeep (of "Manorama Six Feet Under" fame) has been struggling to find a heroine to play a ladydetective in his next project.
First, it was Freida, who walked out of the film. She had signed the film in November last year, but officially walked out before walking the red carpet at Cannes sighting "tardiness on the part of the producers".
Explaining her position, a friend of Freida had then told: "The film kept getting postponed. How long could Freida go on blocking her dates and keep her other commitments on hold?"
Later, Sonam Kapoor was approached for the same role but she refused to step into Freida's shoes.
Now, it seems Anushka might land the role.
A friend of the actress told this newspaper, "Anushka is considering the offer. She is in talks with Phantom Productions and Navdeep Singh. She will take a call very soon."
