Looks like the Ranveer-Sonakshi starrer will finally hit the celluloid. And finally there is a face who wants to talk about the fate of the Phantom Production. Director Vikramaditya Motwane, who made his debut with the film ‘Udaan’ and who went on to direct ‘Lootera’ after forming a company with Anurag Kashyap, Vikas Bahl and Madhu Mantena is now ready to talk about the release date of the film and
confirms as well. “Yes, the film will release on the July 5,” says Motwane.
And indeed if ‘Lootera’ will be born on the July 5, it will be good for Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha’s career as well. ‘Lootera’ is a big budget movie which is partly inspired by American Author O Henry’s short story ‘The Last Leaf’. The film was launched amidst huge pomp and splendour and then the film was to release in the month of October 2012. The date was then pushed to January 2013 and then shifted again to March 2013. Now it has been moved to July 5, 2013 and the director seems sure of the release date now.
There were some doubts about whether the post production work on the film was complete or not, but then Motwane says that everything has been done and they are only waiting for the release dates. “Everything is done. The film will release on that date,” he asserts nonchalantly.
When we had asked Ranveer a few days ago, this is what he had to say. “I have done my job. I am very happy. I am happy with whatever I did and I was happy to work with Vikramaditya Motwane. I am sure Balaji as producers will do best for the film. I hope it releases soon. I would love people to see it as soon as possible.
But we should not worry about what is not in our hands. My work is over, so I should chill,” was his refrain.
Anurag also gave a rather vague answer when asked about the release date a few days ago. “You need to ask Phantom. I am a part of Phantom, but I am more into the scripts and the creativity. There is another phantom that looks after the release,” was his reply.
